Ultracast WWII British Empire Steel Munition Boxes B166 Mk II (U135017) - Sovereign Hobbies

Ultracast WWII British Empire Steel Munition Boxes B166 Mk II (135017)

Ultracast WWII British Empire Steel Munition Boxes B166 Mk II (135017)

Contents of kit shown above.  Five boxes are included in set.

These ammunition boxes are very commonly seen in period photos as extra stowage on various allied armoured vehicles.  These boxes are easily distinguishable from other boxes by the distinct pattern on the lid and sides.

These boxes were used throughout the war and possibly post war into Korea etc.

Some typical uses of this box are:

- 3 inch Mortar Rounds (6 per box)
- No. 73 Anti-Tank Grenades (10 per box)
- No. 77 Grenades (34 per box)
- No. 79 Grenades (24 per box)

The standard colour was Deep Bronze Green ARB02. The British standard service colour was changed some time in 1944 to No. 2 Camouflage Brown.  From late 1944 onward, both colours (Dark Bronze Green and No. 2 Camouflage Brown) could be found in service.

Note:  Box shown is a B166 Mk III but the colour is the same for both boxes.

Paint and thinners classify as flammable liquid and can only be sent via our specialised contract to Mainland UK as they are dangerous goods. The cost of this is rather high per parcel so we have a minimum paint/thinners order of 6 tins/bottles to allow us to reduce the postage cost to our customers.
The minimum order is 6 tins of paint or bottles of thinners or a combination of both. 1 bottle of thinners counts as 1 tin. The paint can be a combination of any colour and tins within coloursets count as individual tins.  If you require any help with this please contact us.
We can send out orders of less than 6 tins/bottles but they incur an extra postage charge. Please contact us if you wish to order less than the minimum.

We are now offering a special order option for out of stock items. If an item is out of stock and available for special order you will see a clickable button for "special order". Payment is required at time of ordering. Once added to cart, you can checkout, select postage method and make payment as per the usual procedure.

Special order stock is not in stock with us at the time of ordering. We will order the item in for you.
